Don’t underestimate what I’m about to say. The entire country, the world, would do well to be watching (Florida again), for it has the potential to help change the very face of medicine!
The way it’s always been in the U.S., the more medical services performed, the more money the doctor (or other health care provider) made. When I practiced Ob/Gyn years ago, I was a ‘good’ doctor and surgeon. And one of the most important aspects of being a ‘good’ doctor and surgeon is to know when ‘not’ to operate. If you’re really ‘good,’ you can sometimes find other ways to treat people short of operating. This concept agreed with one of the most basic tenets of all of medicine, from the Latin: ‘primum non nocere,’ translated, “First...do not harm!” If you can get the patient better with the least risk to the patient, that’s the most ideal way of being a ‘good’ doctor...and a human being...obviously. It should be routine, but it’s not.
As I said though, I was a ‘good’ surgeon. I found a number of situations wherein I could offset surgery and still get the patient better or keep the patient healthy. The result: successful treatments, healthy patients...but for me, ‘ less money.’ Nevertheless, I was, and always will be a ‘good’ doctor. [Pardon my play on the word “good”...but it is intended.] To make matters worse, the overhead, malpractice insurance and all, even with less surgeries, was the same as if I had done ten times the amount!
Nevertheless, over the decades I learned more and more about how to keep people healthy. The more knowledgeable I became, the less money I made.
But now perhaps the tide is beginning to turn.This new law is the first wherein money is diverted toward the money-making incentive to be keeping people healthy. For a doctor such as myself, everything would suddenly be reversed. The more I knew to keep people healthy, the more money I would make. The irony, after over forty years of financially shortchanging myself by having learned and practiced to do what I inherently have always known is absolutely ‘right’ and life-saving (even though I was the ‘outsider’), now, with my vast accumulation of what has come to be a unique knowledge, I am like a horse just let out of the gate at a horse race...and I’m ‘home free,’ for as I look around...there is not only nobody close, but now, almost everybody else is ‘outside’ the gates...and nobody is even running!

You might find parts of it changed, deleted, corrected...who knows what. I might even change my mind about some things. I don’t know. But I’m excited, and anxious for you to know about it. After all, I’ve waited for over 25 years or more for a law like this to come being which can save both your money...and your life! It could be better, but it’s better than nothing. I can’t complain. And I can’t even tell you that I even can make it work. I’ve got to study it first. Do some field work. But I am actually one of those in the best position to make it happen.
“Thank you Florida State Legislators. I commend you...and respectfully bow and tip my hat to you, for your having finally afforded me the route down which to go to effectively effectuate what I do best...save life.” Till now it has been a sincere doctor’s [I’m not the only one] nightmare!
Unfortunately, few medical doctors, like myself, have become so versed as I have in this field and for so many years... so I fear, if the wrong ‘know-it-all’ professionals get involved in implementing how it will work, it’s likely to fail.
I think I might Upload these thoughts as I write them. So when you come back y This is ‘my baby,’ even though I did not formulate the law, and must gladly and wonderfully give credit to those who did, but few people anywhere have such knowledge and experience as I have attained over decades so as to make this work, in Florida as a role model, and for the whole country, and even for the rest of the world. This is not wishful thinking. Till now, I have felt myself to be an army of ‘one.’ But now I can really...really help you, and in so doing, together, we will be an army of ‘many’!
Now the ‘quacks’ who have been feeding you ‘garbage’ will ‘be gone’ because now, for the first time, their quackery and chicanery and mercenary minded methods of trickery will be tested as to their ability to lower the cost of your health care, which they will never do! For, the way this Law is constructed, if it is ever to work, it will of necessity have to actually lower the cost of medical care, and it will have to do so in a relatively short time, within a year or so. Few people from among the myriads of people tooting their horns and professing ‘wellness’ would have any idea as to how to actually make that happen, actualizing ‘health’ while at the same time lowering the cost of overall medical care...and thank goodness my long and lonely and arduous path of experience would rank me at the head of those few who do know! I’ve been doing this for years. What medical doctor do you know who took a marked drop in pay to go into a gym with a blood pressure cuff and stethoscope as a medical doctor/certified personal fitness trainer competing with unlicensed and not properly educated people, to say the least?...and that’s just a small part of the ‘different’ l path I’ve taken as a medical doctor, thank goodness.
...I’ve known for years. I’ve tried to tell people, other health care professionals.. But they wouldn’t listen, for it made them no money. Now the tide has turned, and payment can actually be made to be ‘healthy.’ Now, to make it work, we, together...like I said...together we must be an army of ‘many’!
Warning: “Misfits!...lining your pockets with money by tricking people into believing in your misguided and ill-fated methods of wellness...Begone with you!...your days are numbered!” Now the implements, the tools, the programs and methods of ‘wellness’ are for the first time really going to have to work, and in timely fashion. Otherwise they get the boot, since insurance companies are not about to dish out a ten percent rebate without also markedly lowering the amount they pay out for medical care.
